Azerbaijan goes digital for international documents
Azerbaijan is set to modernize the legalization of official documents through the launch of a new digital platform, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
The ministry will establish an information system called “Consular Legalization”, which will enable the Consular Department and Azerbaijani consulates abroad to carry out document legalization electronically, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The initiative will also include a process map for the remote processing of translations of legalized documents through the “Electronic Notary” system, as well as arrangements for secure delivery of documents to recipients. Dedicated software for the system will be developed to support these operations.
The project will be implemented under the coordination of the ministries of foreign affairs, justice, finance, and the State Tax Service, aiming to streamline procedures, increase transparency, and improve accessibility for citizens and businesses alike.
