Azerbaijan honours Latvian president with state ceremony photo

An official welcome ceremony was held on April 22 for Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs during his visit to Azerbaijan.

A guard of honor was lined up in a square decorated with the national flags of both Azerbaijan and Latvia to mark the occasion, as per domestic media.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev personally welcomed President Edgars Rinkēvičs upon his arrival. The chief of the guard of honor then reported to the Latvian head of state.

The ceremony continued with the performance of the national anthems of the Republic of Latvia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Following this, members of the Azerbaijani delegation were presented to President Edgars Rinkēvičs, while members of the Latvian delegation were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev.

The guard of honor then marched past both presidents to the accompaniment of a military march.

The ceremony concluded with President Ilham Aliyev and President Edgars Rinkēvičs posing for official photographs.
