Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan to boost cargo transportation
Some 950,000 tons of cargo were transported between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan by railway (an increase of eight times) from January through October 2022.
Around 96 per cent of these cargoes accounted for the transit cargo transportation during the reporting period, a subsidiary of Azerbaijan Railways company - ADY Express LLC told Trend.
“Modern geopolitical realities change the logistics map in the Eurasian space and the direction of cargo flows. The Central Asian countries have already begun to use the transit opportunities offered by Azerbaijan to ensure access to the world markets. Big cargo owners and logistics companies from these countries often choose Azerbaijan as a transit route,” ADY Express said.
Cargo transportation in the direction of Kazakhstan increased eight times from 125,000 tons to 950,000 tons.
“It is possible to predict that this figure will grow by 9-10 times by the end of this year,” ADY Express said.
Cargo from Kazakhstan is transported along two routes - through the Caspian Sea and through the Samur-Yalama border crossing.
