Azerbaijan’s Aghdam Industrial Park to launch elevator, escalator plant
A new elevator and escalator manufacturing facility is set to be launched in Azerbaijan’s Aghdam Industrial Park, further boosting industrial development in the region.
“Fujiai Azerbaijan” LLC, a joint Azerbaijani-Chinese enterprise, has been granted resident status in the Aghdam Industrial Park, which operates under the management of the Economic Zones Development Agency, affiliated with the Ministry of Economy, Caliber.Az reports, per the agency.
The company will invest 3.7 million manats ($2.1 million) to construct an elevator manufacturing plant on a 1-hectare site within the park. The facility will be equipped with advanced Chinese technology and is expected to produce around 1,200 elevators annually. In the second phase of the project, the company plans to launch escalator production at the same location.
Currently, the Aghdam Industrial Park hosts 29 resident and 4 non-resident business entities, with a total investment volume reaching 270 million manats ($158.8 million).
Located at the crossroads of Karabakh and surrounding regions, Aghdam Industrial Park has rapidly emerged as a key center for business development. Hosting nine active enterprises, the park’s strategic position has drawn interest from both domestic and international investors. Its growth plays a vital role in Azerbaijan’s efforts to diversify the economy and strengthen the competitiveness of the non-oil sector.
