The fourth session of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iraq is scheduled for December 4 in Baku, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan confirmed.
Azerbaijan’s co-chair of the commission, Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiyev, will lead the delegation alongside Iraq’s co-chair, Minister of Communications Hiyam Al-Yasiri, who arrived in Baku today, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The discussions are set to focus on reviewing the progress and implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding previously concluded between the two nations.
The visit is aimed at deepening strategic partnerships in the economic and investment sectors, as well as exploring new avenues for cooperation in communications and digital development.
The third session of the intergovernmental commission took place in December 2023 in Baghdad.
As of 2024, approximately 170 Iraqi companies operate across multiple sectors in Azerbaijan. Meanwhile, Azerbaijani firms have contributed as contractors to major infrastructure projects in Iraq. Ongoing demand in sectors such as construction, energy supply, water management, and road and bridge development continues to open new opportunities for bilateral business engagement.
