Azerbaijan explores Chinese expertise in long-term energy storage for green projects PHOTO
Azerbaijan is turning to Chinese expertise as it advances its renewable energy initiatives, engaging in high-level discussions with the Chinese company Universal Energy on long-term energy storage technologies for green energy export projects.
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov shared details of the meeting on X, highlighting the strategic importance of adopting innovative storage solutions to enhance the efficiency and reliability of Azerbaijan’s renewable energy infrastructure, Caliber.Az reports.
The discussions took place during a meeting with Universal Energy President Nan Yi, who is visiting Azerbaijan. A key focus was the implementation of the country’s first renewable energy auction project: the 100 MW Gobustan Solar Power Plant.
“Within the framework of the installation of the first panel of the Gobustan Solar Power Plant, the first auctionbased renewable energy project with a capacity of 100 MW, we met with Nan Yi, President of Universal Energy, who is on a visit to our country. We exchanged views on the progress of the plant’s construction, opportunities for expanding cooperation, as well as the company’s experience in long-term and safe energy storage technologies,” the post by Shahbazov reads.
