Official: bp-Azerbaijan completes $170-million imports in nine months PHOTO
bp-Azerbaijan conducted 6,250 import operations totalling $170 million from January to September 2025, Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, bp’s Vice President for the Caspian region, said.
Speaking at the “Customs-Business 2025: Dialogue and Trust” forum in Baku, he noted that the figure during the same period last year was $130 million, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

“Over the years, our activities have expanded, new projects have emerged, and the level of import-export operations has by no means decreased,” he stressed.
bp has been operating in Azerbaijan since 1992 and currently manages some of the country’s largest hydrocarbon assets — including the vast Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli (ACG) oil complex and the major offshore gas‑condensate Shah Deniz field.
Over more than three decades, bp and its partners have reportedly invested over $87 billion into oil, gas and transportation infrastructure in Azerbaijan.
bp also emphasises social investment: as of mid-2025, the company and its partners spent more than $111 million on education, community development, environmental and cultural‑heritage projects across Azerbaijan.
In 2025, bp expanded its offshore footprint by acquiring a 35% interest in the Karabagh oil field and in the Ashrafi–Dan Ulduzu–Aypara (ADUA) block — new development zones in the Caspian Sea that signal BP’s commitment to sustaining and expanding hydrocarbon production.
