Chinese firms eye textile production investments in Azerbaijan

Chinese companies have expressed interest in launching textile production projects in Azerbaijan following talks with the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO).

According to AZPROMO, the discussions took place during a meeting with representatives of the Cross-Border E-Commerce Association from the Chinese city of Jiaxing, Caliber.Az reports.

During the meeting, Azerbaijani officials presented information on AZPROMO’s activities, as well as the country’s export and investment promotion mechanisms and opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation.

“Companies that are members of the Association expressed interest in organizing textile production in Azerbaijan,” the agency said in a statement.

The parties also exchanged views on the development of joint export-oriented manufacturing projects, the promotion of products under the “Made in Azerbaijan” brand, and opportunities for digital sales within the framework of cross-border and e-commerce cooperation.

Additional discussions focused on other areas of mutual interest aimed at strengthening economic and trade ties between Azerbaijan and Chinese businesses.
