Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and African countries has increased from $150 million in 2023 to $580 million in 2025, an impressive growth clearly demonstrating the enormous potential for partnership, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiev has stated.
At an event marking Africa Day 2026, titled The Rising Continent, New Partnerships, he said sectors such as energy and renewable energy, agriculture and food security, transport and logistics hold significant potential for expanding Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the region, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
According to him, sectors such as extractive industries, education and vocational training, digitalisation, innovation, and public service delivery also provide substantial opportunities.
“Economic cooperation is also gradually expanding. Over the past three years, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and African countries has increased from $150 million to $580 million in 2025. This impressive growth clearly demonstrates the enormous potential of our economic partnership. We see broad opportunities for cooperation in such areas as energy and renewable energy, agriculture and food security, transport and logistics, extractive industries, education and vocational training, digitalisation, innovation, and public service delivery,” he noted.
