AZPROMO chief: Peace deal with Armenia to unlock investment opportunities for Baku
A final peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia would serve as a catalyst for new investment opportunities in the region, Yusif Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO), said.
Speaking during a business panel titled “Investment in the Caspian Region," Abdullayev noted that on August 8 last year, the two countries signed a joint declaration, which marked the beginning of a new phase in bilateral relations, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
“This marked the beginning of a new phase in the development of our relations with Armenia. The peace agreement has effectively been drafted, and I am convinced that once it is concluded, new investment opportunities will emerge. First and foremost, in the context of logistics, the launch of the Zangezur Corridor will be of immense importance for attracting investment to Azerbaijan,” he said.
He added that improved regional connectivity and logistics infrastructure would be central to attracting foreign investment to the country once a peace agreement is finalised.
