Azerbaijan presents outcomes of WUF13 in the Netherlands
The Azerbaijani Embassy in the Netherlands has presented the outcomes of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku at an official reception marking Independence Day on May 28.
The embassy said the event was attended by representatives of the Dutch Royal Household, government and parliament, international organizations, the diplomatic corps, business and academic circles, media, religious communities, as well as the Azerbaijani diaspora, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
According to the head of mission Mammad Ahmadzada, Azerbaijan has strengthened its position as a regional leader and an increasingly influential middle power on the international stage. He also highlighted the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The ambassador noted that the development of political dialogue between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands, the growing number of meetings and mutual visits, and the expansion of trade, economic, and humanitarian ties.
Ahmadzada also emphasized the successful hosting of WUF13 in Baku and praised the participation of the Dutch delegation in the forum.
He added that the display of the Azerbaijani flag during events in the Netherlands was a sign of friendly relations.
Director for European Affairs at the Dutch Foreign Ministry Erik Weststrate described Azerbaijan as an important partner of the Netherlands.
He also thanked the Azerbaijani government on behalf of the Dutch foreign minister for assisting in the evacuation of Dutch diplomats from Iran via its territory amid tensions in the Middle East.
The event concluded with a video presentation dedicated to WUF13.
