Baku–Abu Dhabi cooperation broadens as President Aliyev meets top Emirati executives updated / photo

On December 6, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) company 2PointZero; Syed Basar Shueb, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of International Holdings; and Ali Arashdi, Chief Executive Officer of International Resources Holding.

Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan conveyed to President Ilham Aliyev the warm greetings of President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as per domestic media.

He noted that President Mohamed bin Zayed had issued instructions to further strengthen cooperation with Azerbaijan across all areas. Emphasising the significant potential for deepening bilateral ties, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the long-standing and successful partnership between the two countries.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed appreciation for the greetings and requested that his own warm regards be communicated to the President of the United Arab Emirates.

President Aliyev fondly recalled Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to Azerbaijan and Karabakh in September of this year, as well as their productive meetings both in Azerbaijan and during his visits to the UAE.

Highlighting that relations between Azerbaijan and the UAE have elevated to the level of a strategic partnership, President Aliyev underscored the strength of high-level political dialogue, the expanding cooperation across multiple sectors, and the tradition of mutual support between the two nations.

The President emphasised that the UAE is a strategic partner of Azerbaijan in renewable energy. He noted the agreements signed in this field and underlined the substantial opportunities for further expanding collaboration. President Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan-UAE cooperation carries broad significance for the region as a whole.

During the conversation, the sides reaffirmed the progress of bilateral relations in political, economic, trade, oil and gas sectors, among others. They also exchanged views on joint initiatives in energy infrastructure, renewable energy, investment, information technologies, mining, and additional areas of mutual interest.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with senior executives from the United Arab Emirates on December 6.

According to Caliber.Az, the meeting was confirmed on the official website of the Azerbaijani president.

The delegation included Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, chairman of 2pointzero; Syed Basar Shuaib, CEO and managing director of International Holding Company; and Ali Al Rashdi, CEO of International Resources Holding.
