Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Turkic Council talk over social protection cooperation
The Azerbaijani Minister of Labour and Social Protection, Anar Aliyev, met with the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS), Kubanychbek Omuraliev, and his counterpart from Türkiye, Vedat Işıkhan, in Baku to discuss cooperation in labour, employment, and social protection.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the first gathering of labour and social protection ministers from OTS member states, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Protection.
Aliyev praised the OTS Secretariat’s efforts to strengthen social cooperation among Turkic countries and expressed readiness to expand collaboration with both member and observer states.
Omuraliev welcomed the progress made in fostering closer ties in the fields of labour, employment, and social protection. Işıkhan highlighted the importance of the inaugural ministerial meeting in Baku for advancing relations among member states.
Participants also exchanged views on potential areas for further cooperation in social protection and labour policies.
