Azerbaijan, Morocco converse regional security at UN General Assembly
Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Morocco's Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita during the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
Officials addressed concerns regarding both regional and international security, alongside outlining the agenda for bilateral and multilateral cooperation, Caliber.Az reports via Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Minister Bayramov informed his counterpart about the post-conflict situation in the region and Azerbaijan's efforts to promote peace.
Morocco and Azerbaijan have cultivated friendly diplomatic relations since establishing ties in 1992, characterized by mutual support in various international forums. Both countries are members of the Non-Aligned Movement and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which promotes solidarity and cooperation among Muslim nations.
On September 28, 2007, the inter-governmental commission on bilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Morocco was established.
Collaboration extends to trade, culture, and politics, and they engage in cultural exchanges that foster greater understanding and collaboration. Initiatives such as educational programs, art exhibitions, and tourism promotion further strengthen these ties, highlighting their commitment to mutual support and cooperation.
