Azerbaijan, Pakistan strengthen trade, customs, and cultural partnerships with new deals PHOTO

On February 24, a formal ceremony took place for the exchange of signed documents between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, with President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif participating in the event.

The information was shared on the official website of the Azerbaijani President, per Caliber.Az.

Among the key documents signed were a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Azerbaijan’s State Oil Company (SOCAR) and Pakistan’s Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited, as well as a MoU between SOCAR, Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL), and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited. Additionally, Annex No. 1 to the framework agreement on the sale and purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) was signed between SOCAR Trading SA and Pakistan LNG Limited. A long-term agreement on the sale and purchase of petroleum products was also formalized between SOCAR Trading SA and Pakistan State Oil Company Limited.

In addition to these agreements, Azerbaijan and Pakistan also signed a MoU between the city of Nakhchivan and the city of Lahore, which is located in the Punjab province of Pakistan. This agreement aims to foster collaboration in areas including culture, tourism, urban development, education, science, economy, and other sectors.

Furthermore, a MoU between Azerbaijan's State Customs Committee and Pakistan's Customs Service was signed, focusing on the electronic exchange of information. The two countries also inked a MoU on agricultural cooperation, a protocol of intent to cooperate in environmental protection, and another MoU that outlines cooperation in science and education.
