Azerbaijan remains committed to re-integrating ethnic Armenians - envoy
Azerbaijan’s approach to the Armenians has been and remains humane and humanitarian, Ambassador to the Netherlands Rahman Mustafayev has said.
“All conditions have been created for peaceful reintegration,” Mustafayev said in an interview with the Dutch NRC Handelsblad newspaper, which is the fourth most popular newspaper in the country.
The article, based on an interview with Mustafayev and entitled “We had to act”, contains information about the reasons for Azerbaijan’s anti-terrorist measures in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. The specific facts about the illegal military presence of Armenian troops in Karabakh are mentioned and allegations of the so-called ethnic cleansing are refuted.
“I hope for a lasting peace. I believe that President of the European Council Charles Michel is a good and impartial mediator, and the US, Russia can also contribute to the peace process. Peace is also good for Armenia and South Caucasus. Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia can work and cooperate together for better and prosperous region,” the ambassador wrote on X.
