Azerbaijan, Russia enhance interparliamentary, humanitarian ties PHOTO
First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva met with Valentina Matvienko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly, to discuss key aspects of bilateral cooperation.
The meeting took place during Matvienko’s official visit to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The meeting focused on expanding interparliamentary ties, enhancing cultural and humanitarian collaboration, and deepening economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia. Mehriban Aliyeva underscored the importance of strengthening dialogue at various levels to ensure sustainable development in these areas.
Matvienko reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to furthering relations with Azerbaijan, highlighting the role of interparliamentary engagement in fostering mutual understanding. Both sides noted the significance of joint projects in education, science, and healthcare, as well as initiatives aimed at preserving cultural heritage.
The discussions also touched on regional security and stability, with an emphasis on maintaining constructive dialogue to address shared challenges. The meeting reaffirmed the strategic nature of Azerbaijan-Russia relations and the mutual interest in expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.
