Azerbaijan's first couple attend opening of modern recreation zone in Baku PHOTO
On October 1, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the inauguration of a new park in Baku’s Narimanov district.
According to local media, the head of the Baku City Executive Authority, Eldar Azizov, provided the President and the First Lady with information about the newly completed project.
The park, situated at the intersection of Ahmad Bay Aghaoglu, Tabriz, and Talat Shikhaliyev streets, close to the Italy-Azerbaijan University, covers an area of 3.5 hectares. The recreation zone has been equipped with gazebos for relaxation, an amphitheatre, a tennis court, children’s play and entertainment areas, as well as a modern lighting system, creating facilities for both leisure and sporting activities.
In recent years, Baku has undergone a rapid transformation. The establishment of new parks and boulevards, the expansion of green spaces, and the renovation of existing recreation areas have all contributed to shaping the capital into one of the world’s most attractive cities.
The opening of this park adds another destination to the city’s “green map,” providing residents with new opportunities for meaningful leisure and further enhancing the ecological environment of the capital.
