Azerbaijan's first VP offers condolences to relatives of AZAL plane crash victims PHOTO
First Vice-President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva has expressed condolences to relatives and friends of people killed in the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) plane in Aktau.
“I am deeply shocked by the news of the tragic death of people as a result of the plane crash near Aktau. I express my deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims. I wish them strength and patience! I wish speedy healing to the wounded. May the Great Allah protect our people from all troubles and misfortunes!” Mehriban Aliyeva said in the related post on Instagram, Caliber.Az reports.
Earlier today, on December 25, an Embraer 190 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, operating Baku-Grozny flight No. J2-8243, crashed in Aktau.
A total of 67 people were onboard the Azerbaijan Airlines flight, including 62 passengers and 5 crew members, according to a statement from AZAL’s press service.
Among those aboard the plane were 37 Azerbaijan nationals, 16 Russian citizens, six from Kazakhstan, and three from Kyrgyzstan.
