Azerbaijan’s Food Security Agency given new powers
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved changes to the Regulations of the Food Security Agency.
Under the changes, the agency is endowed with new powers, Caliber.Az reports, citing the presidential press service.
The changes include:
- real-time transmission to the information system of the relevant state body of information about foreign countries in the territory of which particularly dangerous animal diseases have arisen, and information about goods whose import is prohibited;
- identification of farm animals to monitor the implementation of veterinary measures for the diagnosis and prevention of diseases;
- registration of facilities for the production of biological products for animals in order to verify their compliance with the requirements of veterinary legislation;
- making an opinion on the placement, construction, restoration and commissioning of facilities related to the production, supply, storage, processing, sale and transportation of products subject to state veterinary control.
