Azerbaijan’s leader pays tribute at Independence Monument in Tashkent VIDEO

On August 23, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Independence Monument in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at the monument, Caliber.Az reports via state media,

The monument was erected in the center of the Yangi Uzbekistan (“New Uzbekistan”) complex to mark the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.

The Independence Monument is crowned by the image of the Humay bird with its wings spread wide, symbolizing peace, freedom, virtue and happiness. The monument was designed at the instruction of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
