Azerbaijan’s president congratulates Kazakh counterpart on parliament elections
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has congratulated President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Kazakh people on the successful holding of the first elections to the country’s new parliament, the Qurultay.
In a congratulatory letter sent to Tokayev on August 23, Aliyev described the elections as a significant event marking “the beginning of a new historical chapter in Kazakhstan’s socio-political life,” Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
“I extend my sincerest congratulations to you and your brotherly people on the successful holding of the first elections to the new parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Qurultay,” Aliyev said.
The Azerbaijani president expressed confidence that the elections would contribute to Kazakhstan’s comprehensive development, support the continuation of large-scale reforms, and help ensure the successful implementation of the country’s future priorities.
“I wish the Qurultay every success,” Aliyev added.
Aliyev also emphasized the importance Azerbaijan attaches to developing relations with Kazakhstan, highlighting the countries’ shared roots, national and spiritual values, and brotherly ties.
“Advancing relations with Kazakhstan, with which we are closely bound by common roots, national-spiritual values, and brotherly ties, holds special importance for us,” the Azerbaijani president said.
According to Aliyev, active and fruitful political dialogue between Baku and Astana has given a strong impetus to strengthening the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan strategic partnership and enriching it with new substance.
“I am confident that through our joint efforts, the friendly relations and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, built on solid foundations, will continue to expand and deepen along an upward trajectory in line with the interests of our peoples,” he said.
Concluding his letter, Aliyev wished Tokayev robust health, happiness, and continued success in his state activities, while wishing the people of Kazakhstan “everlasting peace, progress, and prosperity.”
