Azerbaijani cuisine shines at Greek food festival PHOTO
Azerbaijan was represented at the 25th annual ethnic Food-for-Good Festival held at Plaz Aretsou in the Greek city of Thessaloniki.
According to AZERTAC, Azerbaijan was represented at the festival by the Greece–Azerbaijan Friendship Society “Gala,” Caliber.Az reports via local media.
The event was held on a charitable basis, with all proceeds donated to an orphanage located in the Filyro town of Greece. In this context, the festival not only brought together cultures from different countries but also promoted social solidarity.
Members of the Greece–Azerbaijan Friendship Society “Gala” presented samples of Azerbaijani national cuisine to visitors. Festival participants had the opportunity to taste plov, dolma, qutabs, baklava, and other traditional dishes, as well as Azerbaijani tea.
According to representatives of the society, the main objective of participation was to promote Azerbaijani cuisine, national traditions, and the country’s rich cultural heritage to an international audience, as well as to strengthen cultural dialogue between different peoples.
The annual Food-for-Good Festival in Thessaloniki is considered one of the largest multicultural events in the region, featuring national cuisines from more than 40 countries and attracting over 3,000 visitors each year.
The Azerbaijani stand was met with strong interest from attendees. Visitors not only sampled traditional dishes but also received information about Azerbaijan’s history, culture, and tourism potential.
The event is regarded as an important platform for promoting Azerbaijan’s cultural and people-to-people diplomacy in Greece.
