Azerbaijan, Georgia push forward collaborative energy, transport strategies PHOTO / UPDATED

On April 6 in Tbilisi, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met one-on-one with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili to discuss a range of bilateral issues, including the significance of collaborative transport and energy initiatives.

The leaders highlighted that bilateral relations are grounded in friendship, good-neighbourliness, and strategic partnership, Caliber.Az reports via the presidential website.

They noted that cooperation between Baku and Tbilisi continues to grow across political, economic, energy, green energy, transport, and investment sectors, among others. The significance of high-level reciprocal visits for strengthening ties was also emphasised.

Aliyev and Kavelashvili underlined the strategic and economic importance of joint transport and energy projects. The discussion also addressed the role of Azerbaijan-Armenia normalisation in ensuring stability and security in the South Caucasus.

Both presidents expressed satisfaction with their cooperation within international organisations and exchanged views on the prospects for bilateral relations and other mutual interests. Aliyev subsequently signed the guest book.

On April 6, a one-on-one meeting took place in Tbilisi between the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, and the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili.

Following the meeting, Ilham Aliyev left an entry in the commemorative book, Caliber.Az reports, citing state media.
