Azerbaijani leader congratulates Poland's newly elected president
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter to the newly elected President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, expressing hope for further strengthening bilateral relations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The letter reads: "Dear Mr. Nawrocki,
I sincerely congratulate you on your election as President of the Republic of Poland.
The friendship and cooperation between Azerbaijan and Poland are based on strong traditions. I believe that we will make joint efforts to strengthen our bilateral relations and expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in line with the interests of our peoples.
I wish you robust health, happiness, and success in your responsible endeavors for the prosperity of the friendly people of Poland."
To recall, Karol Nawrocki was elected President of Poland on June 1, 2025, winning 50.89% of the vote in a runoff against Rafał Trzaskowski, who received 49.11%. A conservative historian backed by the Law and Justice (PiS) party, Nawrocki is set to take office on August 6, 2025, succeeding Andrzej Duda.
His campaign focused on traditional Polish values, Euroscepticism, and strong ties with the U.S., notably receiving endorsements from Donald Trump and U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem."
