Azerbaijani leader hosts Goldman Sachs's Global Affairs chief, notes productive partnership PHOTO
On August 19, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev welcomed Jared Cohen, President of Global Affairs at The Goldman Sachs Group Inc., an American investment banking firm.
During the meeting, the parties highlighted their previous encounter in January this year in Davos, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
It was emphasised that Azerbaijan has maintained a productive partnership with The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. since 2010, particularly noting the successful collaboration between the State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the company.
The discussion also touched on the significance of the August 8 outcomes in Washington, achieved with the support of the U.S. president, in advancing a peaceful agenda with Armenia. This progress was noted as opening wide opportunities for comprehensive regional development. The meeting included an exchange of views on future cooperation prospects.
For context, The Goldman Sachs Group Inc., founded in 1869, is a leading global financial institution offering services in investment and consumer banking, securities, and asset management. Operating in more than 40 countries, the company is headquartered in New York and manages assets worth $2.8 trillion.
