Azerbaijani Ombudswoman’s Office to observe elections in Nakhchivan for first time

The Office of the Azerbaijani Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudswoman) will observe the elections in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for the first time.

“According to the Azerbaijani President’s corresponding order, the snap presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7. From the first day of signing the order, the Ombudswoman’s Office and the Central Election Commission jointly implemented numerous events to enlighten people in Baku and in various districts of Azerbaijan. The recent event was organised in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic,” Ombudswoman Sabina Aliyeva told journalists in Nakhchivan, Azertac reports.

“The members of the election commission, observers, chairmen and members of the constituencies attended the event. The main theme of the event was ensuring the voting rights of citizens. In general, the Azerbaijani Ombudswoman’s Office, operating for 22 years, monitored all elections. For the first time, the representatives of the Ombudswoman’s office will observe the elections in Nakhchivan,” the ombudswoman noted.
