Azerbaijani, Pakistani leaders discuss US visit outcomes, regional cooperation
On August 10, President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, made a phone call to the Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
During the telephone conversation, satisfaction was expressed regarding the visit of the Prime Minister of Pakistan to Azerbaijan, bilateral meetings in Lachin, as well as the trilateral talks in the Azerbaijan–Türkiye–Pakistan format, and his participation in the Economic Cooperation Organization Summit in Khankendi, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The importance of the documents signed during President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to the United States was emphasised, in particular the declaration and other documents signed by the President of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia in the presence of the US President, aimed at ensuring lasting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. The special role of US President Donald Trump in achieving these results was noted.
Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif stressed the importance of the agreements reached and conveyed his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev.
During the conversation, there was also an exchange of views on further expanding bilateral relations in the economic, energy, trade, and investment sectors.
