Azerbaijani Parliament speaker meets with Bahraini counterpart PHOTO

Azerbaijani Parliament Speaker Sahiba Gafarova has met with the chairman of Bahrain’s Shura Council Ali bin Saleh al-Saleh.

The meeting took place with Gafarova’s working visit to Bahrain, Report informs, citing the parliament’s press department.

During the meeting, the parties discussed relations between the countries and the countries’ parliaments.

It was noted that Azerbaijan and Bahrain cooperate as part of international and regional organizations such as the UN, the OIC and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

They praised the two parliaments’ interaction which positively impacts the development of ties between the states, and also lauded effective cooperation between the two states’ legislative bodies.

The sides also noted Azerbaijan's successful chairmanship of the NAM.

For his part, Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh expressed his country's interest in further expanding relations with Azerbaijan.

The meeting also saw an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
