Azerbaijani President approves changes to law on customs tariff

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has approved changes to the Law on Customs Tariffs.

According to the changes, the customs value of goods should be determined on the basis of simple and fair criteria, while customs valuation procedures must not be differentiated depending on the source of supply of goods, Caliber.Az reports citing the message on the official presidential website.

If the customs declaration submitted by the declarant to the customs service is not approved within one day due to the need to clarify the customs value of the declared goods, the declarant may apply to the customs service by sending a statement in a written form or e-statement. This appeal will be considered in the manner prescribed by the customs code.

Notification on making appropriate changes to the customs value of goods must be submitted to the declarant no later than 24 hours from the date of submission of the customs declaration.

The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers was instructed to approve the rules for determining the customs value of goods within three months by agreeing on this issue with the president.
