On May 15, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev arrived in Tirana for a working visit, invited by Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and European Council President António Costa, to attend the 6th European Political Community Summit.
According to the Presidential Press Service, at Tirana International Airport, President Aliyev was received by Albania’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, alongside other senior officials, Caliber.Az reports.
The sixth European Political Community (EPC) summit will be held in Tirana, Albania on May 16, under the theme “New Europe in a New World: Unity – Cooperation – Joint Action.” Hosted in Albania for the first time, the meeting will bring together 47 heads of state and government.
European Council President António Costa and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama will co-chair the summit. Leaders will begin with a plenary on European security and a shared future vision, with Russia’s war against Ukraine expected to dominate the agenda.
Three roundtables will follow, focusing on security and democratic resilience, economic competitiveness and supply chains, and mobility and youth empowerment. The EPC, launched in 2022, offers an informal forum for EU and non-EU countries to coordinate strategic priorities in a shifting global context.
