President Aliyev condemns rocket attack on Türkiye in call with Erdoğan

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev called Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on March 9 to condemn the rocket attack targeting the territory of Türkiye.

During the call, the Azerbaijani leader expressed support for the brotherly Turkish people, Caliber.Az reports via state media. 

In turn, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan for the phone call and for his position.

Earlier, on March 9, the Turkish Ministry of Defence said that a ballistic missile launched from Iran and entering Turkish airspace was neutralised by NATO air and missile defence systems deployed in the eastern Mediterranean.
