Azerbaijani president condemns terror attack in Pakistan
Azerbaijani President lham Aliyev has extended condolences to Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif following a deadly terrorist attack targeting a passenger train in southwestern Pakistan.
In a letter addressed to the Pakistani premier, the president of Azerbaijan expressed deep sorrow over the incident, which resulted in numerous casualties and injuries, Caliber.Az reports via state media.
“Dear Brother,
We were deeply saddened by the news of the treacherous terrorist attack targeting a passenger train in the southwest of your country, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of a large number of people,” Aliyev said.
The Azerbaijani leader strongly condemned terrorism in all its forms and stressed the importance of resolute international efforts to combat it.
“We are outraged by this horrific incident, strongly condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, and consider it imperative to combat terrorism in the most decisive manner,” the letter read.
Aliyev also conveyed solidarity with Pakistan during what he described as a difficult time for the country and its people.
“In these difficult moments, we share your grief. On my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my deepest condolences to you, the families and loved ones of the victims, and the brotherly people of Pakistan. I also wish a speedy recovery to those injured,” he stated.
“May Allah rest their souls in peace!” the Azerbaijani president added.
