Azerbaijani president congratulates Republic of the Congo on independence day
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory message to Denis Sassou-Nguesso, President of the Republic of the Congo, on the occasion of the country’s 65th Independence Day.
In his letter, President Aliyev highlighted the growing ties between the two nations, noting that “relations between Azerbaijan and the Congo are developing along an upward trajectory and are being enriched with new content.”
He also referenced President Sassou-Nguesso’s two visits to Baku last year, saying they “gave significant impetus to the expansion of our cooperation.”
The Azerbaijani leader expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations, stating: “The friendly relations established between Azerbaijan and the Congo have created a favourable basis and opportunities for the development of our mutually beneficial cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian, and other areas.”
President Aliyev concluded his message by wishing the Congolese people peace and prosperity, and President Sassou-Nguesso “robust health, happiness, and success in his work.”
He affirmed his confidence that both countries would continue their joint efforts to strengthen ties and deepen cooperation “both bilaterally and multilaterally.”
