Azerbaijani president: "Diri Baba" Mausoleum unique in entire Caucasus region

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has said that "Diri Baba" Mausoleum is unique in the entire Caucasus region.

Stressing that he viewed the work being carried out at the Diri Baba Mausoleum, President Aliyev said in an interview with Azerbaijani television in Basgal settlement on August 12 that some time ago, he instructed to restore this historical monument and create a tourist infrastructure around it, according to Azertag.

“The Diri Baba Mausoleum is unique in the entire Caucasus region. This mausoleum, which is over 500 years, has been recognised by Azerbaijanis as a sacred place for centuries,” the president noted.

“Of course, it is our duty to preserve this ancient historical monument, revive and restore it. The conditions around it should also meet modern standards,” the president added.
