Azerbaijani president, first lady honour memory of WWII heroes, martyrs Photo

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the grave of Major General of Tank Troops Hazi Aslanov, who was twice awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the victory over fascism.

The head of state and the First Lady laid flowers at Aslanov’s monument and paid tribute to all Azerbaijanis who lost their lives during the war, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

The visit took place as May 9 is marked in Azerbaijan as Victory over fascism day, commemorating the end of World War II.
