On October 3, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Horovlu village in the Jabrayil district to oversee the construction of new houses and social facilities aimed at revitalizing the region. Their visit marked a significant step in the ongoing reconstruction efforts in the areas affected by recent conflicts.
During their tour, the President and First Lady participated in the opening ceremony of the Mehdi Mehdizade Secondary School in the city of Jabrayil, which boasts a capacity of 960 seats, further enhancing educational opportunities for local children, Caliber.Az reports via Azertag.
In a series of initiatives to bolster the region's economy, President Aliyev laid the foundation stone for several key projects, including a non-alcoholic beverage production complex owned by “Azersun Holding” LLC and a brooding egg production factory by the “Hijaz Gushchulug” poultry enterprise. Both projects are expected to create jobs and stimulate local economic growth.
The President and First Lady also attended the ground-breaking ceremonies for multiple industrial plants in the Araz Valley Economic Zone. This includes a furniture cluster owned by Lithuania's Dominari company and a plant by Karabakh Stone LLC, as well as a facility by Prestij-Kimya LLC. These ventures are part of Azerbaijan's broader strategy to develop the industrial potential of the region.
In addition to these initiatives, President Aliyev inaugurated the Digital Control Center for the Zangilan Electric Power Network, operated by Azerishig OJSC, a vital step towards enhancing the region's infrastructure and energy supply.
The visit continued in Zangilan, where President Aliyev laid the foundation stones for two residential complexes, the fifth and sixth, as part of a commitment to provide housing for the local population. He also inspected the construction site of a new 104-apartment residential complex and the ongoing work at the Zangilan Recreation Complex, both aimed at improving the quality of life for residents.
This day of inspections and inaugurations reflects the Azerbaijani government's dedication to rebuilding and developing the Jabrayil and Zangilan districts, fostering economic growth, and enhancing the social infrastructure to support the local communities.
