Bilateral relations, energy, and culture on agenda as Azerbaijani president meets Italian PM PHOTO / UPDATED
On October 2, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with Giorgia Meloni, President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic, on the sidelines of the 7th European Political Community Summit in Copenhagen.
During the meeting, both leaders highlighted the ongoing development of Azerbaijan-Italy relations within the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership, as per local media.
They particularly noted the recent successful official visit of the Italian President to Azerbaijan, which included the inauguration of the first campus of the Italy-Azerbaijan University in Baku, marking a significant milestone in bilateral educational cooperation.
The discussions also emphasised the success of energy collaboration between the two countries, with Azerbaijan playing a key role in ensuring Italy’s energy security.
In addition, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Meloni celebrated the expansion of cooperation across multiple sectors, including investments, culture, humanitarian initiatives, and other areas of mutual interest, reinforcing the strong and multifaceted partnership between Azerbaijan and Italy.
