Aliyev and Sandu discuss expansion of Azerbaijan–Moldova cooperation in Antalya PHOTO/UPDATED

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev held talks with Moldovan President Maia Sandu in Antalya, focusing on the development of bilateral relations and future cooperation.

The meeting recalled previous contacts between the two leaders in Azerbaijan, Moldova, and at international events, which both sides described positively, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani president’s website.

During the discussions, the presidents reviewed the prospects for Azerbaijan–Moldova relations, highlighting the importance of expanding cooperation and the role of reciprocal visits at various levels in strengthening ties.

Energy cooperation was identified as a key area of potential growth. The Moldovan side also expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan’s support during periods when Moldova faced energy supply challenges.

President Sandu noted the contribution of the Azerbaijani community in Moldova to the country’s social and political life.

The two leaders also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
