Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev visited Seyidbayli village in the country’s Khojaly district on September 15, where he was briefed on the developments since the liberation of the village in September 2023.
During his visit, President Aliyev toured the home of Rasim Alakbarov, one of the residents, who resettled in the area, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Since its liberation, Seyidbayli has seen extensive rebuilding efforts. The restoration of the village’s infrastructure includes the rehabilitation of a 30-kilometer power line, the installation of two new transformers, and the laying of main gas pipelines. Water services have also been revamped, with the repair of a water reservoir, artesian well, and the construction of a new drinking water network. Additionally, a flag square has been created, and internal roads have been paved with asphalt.
Out of the village's 140 houses, 22 are currently uninhabitable, while 118 are partially restored. To date, 10 homes have been fully restored, and by the end of the year, 44 houses will be ready for residents. Another 64 homes are expected to be completed by 2026. Nine families, totaling 31 people, have already moved back into the village.
