Azerbaijani President lays foundation for several facilities in Aghdam
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev reviewed the Barda-Aghdam highway which is under construction on October 4.
Chairman of the board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads Saleh Mammadov has informed the president about the technical indicators of the road and the conducted work, Caliber.Az reports.
The length of the highway beginning from Barda is 44.5 kilometres, width - 26.5 metres.
The road is being built in accordance with the first technical level with four lanes, taking into account the development plan of Karabakh.
Four bridges, including three elevated pedestrian crossings, are planned to be built on the road. Some 29 bus stops are being built on the highway. Around 14 of them have already been built.
The earthworks within the project have been completed, 75 per cent of the total work has been completed.
President Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva also took part in the groundbreaking ceremony of Khidirly and Kengerli villages of the Aghdam district, a horse breeding centre in Eyvazkhanbayli village in the Aghdam district.
The foundation of the railway and bus station complex of Aghdam city was also laid on October 4.
