Azerbaijani president, Dutch PM explore regional stability, economic ties in Copenhagen Updated / PHOTO
On October 2, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof in Copenhagen, discussing progress on regional peace, trade, and climate initiatives.
Schoof congratulated Aliyev on developments in Washington concerning the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace agenda, highlighting their significance, Caliber.Az reports per Azertag.
Aliyev, in turn, stressed the importance of the Washington Declaration and the subsequent agreement on normalising ties between the two countries, noting that peace has already been established.
The leaders also reviewed economic cooperation, noting the active presence of Dutch firms in Azerbaijan across sectors, including shipping, port construction, electrical industries, agriculture, and urban development. They further discussed collaboration within international organisations.
Schoof also praised Azerbaijan for successfully hosting COP29, citing the event’s achievements in advancing the international climate agenda.
