Azerbaijani president meets John Deere executive to discuss agricultural cooperation PHOTO
On December 10, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Csaba Lejko, President of John Deere for Central Asia and the CIS and CEO of John Deere Walldorf International.
During the discussions, the parties highlighted Azerbaijan’s significant potential in the agricultural sector and the government’s ongoing efforts to develop the industry, Caliber.Az reports, citing the president’s official website.
Lejko noted that John Deere has been operating successfully in Azerbaijan, expressed interest in expanding cooperation, and presented a cotton production project proposed for the country. He also said he was impressed by the development of Baku.
The meeting covered prospects for collaboration between Azerbaijan and the company, including plans for an educational and training centre and the exchange of expertise in cotton and grain production.
Founded in the United States in 1837, John Deere is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of agricultural, construction, and forestry equipment. Its core products include tractors, harvesters, and cotton-picking machinery.
Last year, the company reported global revenues of approximately $52 billion, with operations in more than 30 countries.
