Azerbaijani president, OTS chief discuss strengthening Turkic world partnerships PHOTO
President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has received Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), in Gabala on October 6.
The guest congratulated Ilham Aliyev on the progress made in advancing a peaceful agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia, achieved in Washington in the presence of U.S. President Donald Trump, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani president's official website.
The head of state thanked him for the congratulations.
Omuraliev expressed his appreciation to President Aliyev for Azerbaijan’s support in further strengthening the international authority of the OTS and enhancing cooperation among member and observer states.
The meeting highlighted that the 12th Summit of the Council of Heads of State of the OTS, to be held in Gabala, will focus on “Regional Peace and Security.”
They noted that the summit will address key issues on the organisation’s agenda.
President Aliyev expressed confidence that the summit will contribute to strengthening friendship, solidarity, and partnership within the Turkic world.
The meeting also included discussions on future cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OTS.
For the record, the OTS summit will be held on October 6–7 in Gabala, Azerbaijan, under the theme “Regional Peace and Security”.
The Summit will convene the esteemed Heads of State and Government of the OTS Member States and Observers together with their delegations, to discuss pressing regional and international issues, enhance cooperation, and adopt key documents aimed at further advancing unity, peace, and prosperity across the Turkic World.
