Azerbaijani president ratifies two memorandums inked with Saudi Arabia
President Ilham Aliyev has officially approved two memorandums of understanding aimed at deepening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia in the fields of agriculture and transport.
One of the agreements was signed between Azerbaijan’s Food Safety Agency and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The memorandum outlines joint efforts in plant quarantine and protection, reflecting both countries’ commitment to agricultural development and biosecurity, Caliber.Az reports per the president's website.
In a separate move, President Aliyev also endorsed a memorandum between Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Digital Development and Transport and Saudi Arabia’s General Transport Authority. This agreement provides for the mutual recognition of seafarers’ certificates in accordance with Regulation I/10 of the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
Both memorandums were signed on April 28 in Riyadh, highlighting a growing strategic partnership between the two nations across multiple sectors.
