Azerbaijani president replaces ambassadors in diplomatic reshuffle Decrees / UPDATE
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has signed a series of decrees reshaping Azerbaijan’s diplomatic corps, with several ambassadors recalled and new appointments made across key international posts.
All decisions were issued by presidential decrees, per Caliber.Az.
Gursal Ismayilzada has been recalled from his post as Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Japan. By another decree, Farid Talibov has been appointed to succeed him.
Mammad Talibov has been recalled from his ambassadorial posts in Mexico, as well as Honduras, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Panama, and Peru. Seymur Fataliyev has been appointed as Azerbaijan’s new ambassador to Mexico.
Eldar Salimov has been recalled from his post as ambassador to Jordan and appointed as Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Iraq.
Aliyannaghi Huseynov has been recalled from his position as Consul General in Tabriz, Iran. He is succeeded by Taleh Zohrabov.
Shahin Abdullayev has been recalled from his posts as ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, as well as Permanent Representative of Azerbaijan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. He has been appointed ambassador to Jordan. Mutallim Mirzayev has been appointed as Azerbaijan’s new ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
