Azerbaijani president receives credentials of Estonia's new ambassador PHOTO
On October 14, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accepted the credentials of Väino Reinart, the newly appointed Ambassador of Estonia to Azerbaijan.
During the formal ceremony, the ambassador presented his credentials to President Aliyev, followed by a conversation between the two leaders, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
President Aliyev highlighted the significance of identifying new avenues for expanding bilateral relations, particularly in trade, economy, and investment. He emphasized that both nations have ample opportunities for cooperation in these areas.
Ambassador Väino Reinart expressed his honour in being appointed to Azerbaijan, noting the positive developments he witnessed during his recent visit to Baku. He underlined Estonia's commitment to strengthening relations with Azerbaijan, both bilaterally and within the framework of international organizations.
The ambassador also expressed Estonia’s satisfaction with Azerbaijan’s efforts to negotiate a peace agreement with Armenia, voicing his country's support for these efforts at the international level.
During the discussion, President Aliyev pointed to the importance of mutual visits, recalling his trip to Estonia and the visit of the Estonian President to Azerbaijan, which have contributed to the development of relations. The Azerbaijani President further emphasized the significance of enhancing cooperation at both the bilateral level and within the framework of the European Union and other international institutions.
Addressing the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process, President Aliyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan's role as the initiator of the peace negotiations and stressed the need for reaching consensus on all provisions of the peace agreement. He underscored the importance of each element of the agreement in promoting regional stability.
The conversation also included an exchange of views on Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the European Union and the upcoming COP29 climate conference, further underscoring the broad scope of Azerbaijan-Estonia relations.
