Azerbaijani president receives credentials of incoming Kyrgyz ambassador
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev welcomed Kyrgyzstan’s newly appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary Maksat Mamytkanov, who presented his credentials during a formal ceremony.
Following this, the two engaged in a constructive conversation, reinforcing the deep-rooted and evolving relationship between their nations, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
In their discussion, both men celebrated the robust strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, noting that bilateral relations have significantly advanced to a new level in recent years. President Aliyev emphasized the importance of reciprocal visits by presidents, underscoring that the traditional brotherly and friendly ties between the two countries have been strengthened through various initiatives.
Further, President Aliyev highlighted the successful implementation of important projects in trade, economy, investment, and transport, acknowledging Kyrgyzstan’s support in constructing a school in Aghdam District as a testament to their fraternal relationship. He expressed confidence in the future expansion of bilateral cooperation and the mutual desire to realize the existing potential between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
The president also touched upon the cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States, describing it as a familial bond, and noted the significance of the upcoming first informal summit in Shusha. He expressed his best wishes to Ambassador Mamytkanov for his new role.
Ambassador Mamytkanov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and shared his commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations. He highlighted Azerbaijan's substantial investments in Kyrgyzstan, which have significantly contributed to its economic development, and emphasized the vast potential for enhanced cooperation. He also mentioned the successful state visit of President Zhaparov to Azerbaijan in April, which led to the establishment of the Azerbaijan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund, further solidifying their partnership.
The ambassador acknowledged the construction of a five-star hotel by Azerbaijan on the shores of Issyk-Kul Lake, a project expected to boost Kyrgyzstan’s tourism sector. He also expressed appreciation for Azerbaijan's respect for the heritage of prominent Kyrgyz writer Chingiz Aitmatov, marked by the unveiling of a monument in Baku during President Zhaparov’s visit.
In conclusion, President Aliyev lauded Chingiz Aitmatov as a cherished figure within the Turkic civilization and globally.
