Azerbaijani President: Signing of act of surrender by Armenia is proudest event in my life
The new armed units that are capable of conducting special operations are currently being created in Azerbaijan.
The remark was made on April 30 by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, while addressing the personnel of a military unit of the Special Forces of the Ministry of Defence on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of creation of the Special Forces. “The Azerbaijani army is getting stronger. Today our army is even stronger than in wartime,” the President said.
In addition, the head of state noted the significance of the Victory in the history of the Azerbaijan people: “Patriotic war is our glorious history. The Azerbaijani people have become the backbone of their army, all the citizens of Azerbaijan have united, the Azerbaijanis of the whole world have united.”
“We united into a single fist and inflicted such crushing blows on the enemy that he still cannot recover. The Armenian army was completely destroyed in 44 days. Today, the remnants of the Armenian army are demonstrated in the center of Baku, in the War Trophy Park,” President Aliyev said.
“This is perhaps one of the most memorable, joyful, proud moments in our history and, perhaps, the first in my life. The signing of the act of surrender by Armenia is the proudest event in my life,” the President added.
