Azerbaijani president, US CENTCOM commander discuss defence cooperation PHOTO

On October 18, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Admiral Brad Cooper, Commander of the United States Central Command (CENTCOM) and admiral of the US Navy.

Admiral Cooper conveyed his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on Azerbaijan’s achievements in advancing the peace agenda with Armenia — progress that, he noted, was personally observed by US President Donald Trump during recent meetings in Washington, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

President Aliyev expressed gratitude for the congratulations and underscored the special role of President Trump in facilitating the peace process. He emphasised that the documents signed in Washington have created broad opportunities for the sustainable development of the South Caucasus, adding that both Azerbaijan and Armenia have now adapted to living under peaceful conditions.

During the meeting, the sides hailed the recent positive dynamics in Azerbaijan–US bilateral relations and exchanged views on prospects for cooperation in military and military-technical fields.
